PRODUCT QUESTIONS
All CREVIK storage plates are made from Grade 1 Pure Titanium (GR1) with ≥ 99.5% purity. Titanium has a melting point of 1668°C — far exceeding the peak temperature of a house fire (~1100°C). Its self-healing TiO₂ oxide layer provides immunity to rust, saltwater, and most acids. At 4.5 g/cm³, it’s approximately 45% lighter than steel.
Stainless steel melts at approximately 1400°C, which creates a risk of deformation in extreme fires. Titanium’s melting point is nearly 270°C higher. Stainless steel is also susceptible to corrosion in certain environments (e.g., chloride exposure), while titanium remains virtually unaffected. Titanium is also lighter and stronger — ideal for long-term storage.
No. The kit includes nearly everything you need for stamping — 2 titanium plates, 1 practice plate, A–Z letter stamps, a stamp holder, a stainless steel workbench, masking tape, security seals, and a user manual — but you will need to provide your own hammer.
Each CREVIK titanium plate stores up to 24 words, supporting standard 12-word or 24-word BIP39 seed phrases. Both the ALPHA STAMP L4 and CORE PLATE T2 include 2 plates, for a combined capacity of up to 48 words.
ALPHA STAMP L4 is a letter stamping system — you stamp each letter of your seed words onto the titanium plate using letter stamps and a hammer. INDEX PUNCH N4 is an index punching system — instead of stamping full letters, you simply use a center punch to mark small dots on a numbered grid, recording 4-digit BIP39 word indices (0001–2048). The INDEX PUNCH N4 requires less force and effort since you’re only making small punch marks rather than stamping entire letters.
Each plate measures 85.6 × 54.0 × 2.0 mm — roughly the size of a credit card — and weighs approximately 42g. They are extremely easy to conceal and store.
CREVIK titanium plates can withstand: fire (1668°C melting point), floods and water submersion, saltwater exposure, most acid corrosion, electromagnetic pulses (EMP), and prolonged humidity. With no batteries, electronics, or moving parts, there is zero risk of aging or mechanical failure.
SEED PHRASES & CRYPTO BASICS
A seed phrase (also called a recovery phrase or backup phrase) is a set of 12 or 24 English words that serves as the master backup key for your cryptocurrency wallet. It can restore all your assets in any compatible wallet. Losing your seed phrase means permanently losing access to your crypto assets.
BIP39 (Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 39) is the industry standard for generating seed phrases in cryptocurrency. It defines a standardized wordlist of 2048 words and is used by virtually all major wallets (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.). All CREVIK products are fully compatible with the BIP39 standard.
The vast majority of popular wallets — including Ledger, Trezor, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Exodus, and many more — use the BIP39 standard. If your wallet generated a set of 12 or 24 English words as a backup during setup, it is almost certainly BIP39 compatible. If unsure, consult your wallet’s official documentation or contact their support team.

Absolutely not. CREVIK products are blank physical storage tools — you stamp or punch your own seed phrase onto them. We never see, access, or store your seed phrase in any way. We will also never ask you for your seed phrase or private keys.

Get the CORE PLATE T2 ($29.99) as expansion plates. It includes 2 titanium plates identical to those in the ALPHA STAMP kit, and you can reuse your existing stamping tools. It’s also ideal for storing backups in geographically separate locations.

USAGE & SECURITY
Place the workbench on a solid, stable surface such as a concrete floor or sturdy workbench — a wobbly table may absorb impact and result in shallow impressions. Practice on the included practice plate multiple times to find the right force. Use the included masking tape to secure the plate to the workbench to prevent slipping. Use the stamp holder to keep letters aligned. Stamp one letter at a time — confirm position before striking. Use moderate force — too light and it won’t be legible; too hard and it may deform.
We recommend making at least 2 backups and storing them in separate physical locations (e.g., a home safe + a bank safe deposit box, or two secure locations in different cities). This way, even if one location is compromised by disaster or theft, your other backup remains safe.
Anyone who sees the seed phrase on your plates could potentially access your assets. Store your plates in a secure, concealed location accessible only to you or trusted individuals. For advanced users, consider Shamir’s Secret Sharing (SSS) — a cryptographic method that splits your seed into multiple shares, where a predefined threshold (e.g., 3 out of 5) is required to reconstruct the original. The SLIP-0039 standard (also known as Shamir Backup) implements this for cryptocurrency seed phrases, allowing you to distribute shares across separate locations so that no single share can compromise your assets.
No. Grade 1 Titanium has a natural self-healing oxide layer and requires no coating, upkeep, or periodic inspection. With no batteries, electronics, or moving parts — once stored, there’s nothing to worry about.
